What is 'Spaza'?

As with all emerging musical sub-divisions, 'Spaza' is still in the process of defining itself, and this makes it quite hard to pin down. The term itself seems to have been coined in Cape Town to describe artists who rap in a combination of isiXhosa and English.

I will never be able to take a rapper seriously who copies someone else's culture. 'real' is not about kasi, rural or urban, or about race. real is representing who you are and where you're from.
